It seemed 2017 was an endless wedding season at the Guesthouse at Lost River. Given that WV Wedding Photographer Chris Jackson Photography is a preferred vendor at the mountain venue – it is always a pleasure to document unique clients there – I was through their door four times. Jamie emailed me about documenting her and her fiance’s wedding and was humbled by her kindness and eagerness to work with me.

Their wedding was chill. The day started with a short getting ready sessions at the inn, with lots of detail shots around the grounds – it is truly an amazing venue. Doug’s groomsmen were given axes as a gift and they were pretty big, haha. So we had some fun with those shots. The small ceremony took place outside in near perfect September weather for the state. After the ceremony we breezed through the formals and onto the portrait sessions. We worked around the ground shooting some new locations I haven’t used as well as some of my favorite spots. I always try and use different settings when doing couples portraits at vendors I’m at a lot.

After the portrait session, we heading back for the reception. Things moved along pretty well and dancing was a total blast. The guests seemed to be enjoying themselves and with all the children there it was guaranteed to have lots of good dancing photographs.
